Plenty of reasons to love YCIS
I am really exited to get back to school at Yew Chung International School! At YCIS, you can hang out with friends or go to fun activities after school. I have lived in Shanghai for a long time and I have learned a lot at YCIS in that time. All in all, the 10 best things about YCIS are:
• There are a lot of after school activity programs (ASAPs) so you can pretty much do anything, and I really like the chess ASAP.
• It is good for a lot of subjects, but I think art is my favorite subject.
• It has good cafeteria food and even better desserts (make sure you eat the gingerbread cookies because they are so good).
• The staff are very helpful and nice people.
• A lot of the teachers stay there for many years so you might have them twice, if you’re lucky!
• You can have a lot of best friends and they are very easy to make. If you lose a friend because he moves back to his home country, you can make new ones easily. On the playground, it’s easy to find people to play with.
• Field trips take you to awesome places. I like the zoo and aquarium field trips. I think I’ve now been to every museum and park in Shanghai.
• YCIS offers a good education and the teachers can make studying like a game. My teacher last year did this a lot and it was a really fun way to learn.
• The libraries are super awesome and have a wide variety of books for me to choose from. The librarians always encourage us to read.
• Speaking Chinese is a great skill to learn so you can bargain for toys at stores. I have had a lot of great Chinese teachers, especially Baoru Shen, who is one of my all time favorite teachers ever. Her Chinese class was very, very fun, and she really cared about me and helped me.
