Snuggling up with good books

MANY people are forced to read, usually by their parents or their teachers. However, some of us are different because we enjoy reading, and don't take it as something we are forced to do, but something we enjoy doing. I remember getting hooked on reading at the age of five. I started off with simple books, mostly ones that had pictures. Slowly, I progressed to books with more interesting plots and deeper thoughts.

For me, reading books has always been something that I take comfort in. I feel like I can confide in a book, because it will never let me down. Whenever I read a book, I feel a strange connection with the characters and the whole plot. I'm then drawn into the story and it's for me to put the book down once I start reading. Sometimes, when my day doesn't go too well, and I have the need to take comfort in something, I head straight to my books. Others would usually start eating chocolate or ice cream when they are depressed, but I'm different. It's hard to explain, but words and stories bring me comfort, and joy. So that's one of the main reasons why reading is important to me.
