The benefits of yoga

YOGA is an amazing activity. After a stressful day at school, before sitting down with all the homework I have, I like to do a yoga class for at least an hour, it makes me think much clearer and feel less tired.

Yoga stimulates your whole body and helps you to relax and think about something else for a while. You stretch out all your muscles and it helps your blood circulate better, it helps your digestive system and increases your immune system.

Yoga helps take the stress away and it is very good for your body and organs.

Yoga means a lot to me, because it helps me calm down after a stressful day at school or home. It also helps me to relax and think about other things for the moment.

Some people think yoga is all about meditation and breathing - yes, but not only that. Yoga is an activity where you stretch, make your body flexible and learn how to breathe so that your body will feel better and function better.

You learn new positions every class and you develop your flexibility every class.

Yoga is not an easy thing to do. Yoga is hard and takes a lot of energy and strength. Not only do you become more flexible, you gain strength in your entire body.

We try many different styles of yoga, and every time we have a lot of fun practicing. We work out, but also learn various positions. My body feels much better after yoga, I can go home and concentrate more on my homework. I think my skills in yoga have improved since we started this semester.

I also learned how to meditate, to really focus on only one thing and to just forget about the world outside. Meditation is also very good for your mind and brain to relax and forget about all the things you normally worry about.

What I learned in this class is to try not to think too much about anything. Sometimes you need to just lie down and relax for a little bit before you can start focusing again. Yoga is a good way to both start and end your day.
