Expo treasure hunt

DIGITAL shutterbugs will be prowling World Expo 2010 Shanghai in an "Expo Treasure Hunt" competition sponsored by Shanghai Media Group's BesTV and China Network Television.
Several thousand university students have entered the competition that encourages everyone to point their cameras at Expo "treasures," such as architecture in the Expo Park, human stories and moments in galas.
The competition will run through October 31 and conclude with an awards ceremony. Scenes from winning works will be included in the official Expo documentary "Shanghai Legend" by director Zhou Yaping and collected by the Shanghai Audio and Video Museum.
Director Zhou and noted film makers Wang Xiaoshuai, Jia Zhangke and Wang Quan'an will judge the treasure-hunting videos. Newcomers will receive shooting and editing advice and technical support.
Applications are available at www. bestv.com.cn and www.cntv.cn. Entries are limited to 10 minutes.
