Pet fair to set tails waggin鈥 in Shanghai
THE Asia Pet Fair, an annual trade event and celebration of all things pet-related, will be held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center in the Pudong New Area later this month.
This year, the gala of cuties will be upgraded, with more than 1,300 pet-related product manufacturers and service providers and 16,000 brands from around the world. The area has been increased to 140,000 square meters over 10 exhibition halls to handle the increase of crowds.
Highlights include a pet fashion show with new autumn and winter collections, a pet pageant of purebred dog and cat shows, and a dog sports meet that is open to dogs of any breed.
You can also see how a police dog is trained and how a “doctor dog” smells a patient to detect whether or not they have cancer.
In addition, owners can learn some simple massage skills from a professional animal masseur to relax their pets, as well as practical tips on how to pick the right pet hospital for timely, proper treatment.
It’s a carnival not only for dogs and cats — a variety of pets such as raccoons, ferrets, fish, lizards, hedgehogs, rabbits and alpacas will also be on display.
Aquarama, an international exhibition for aquarium supplies and ornamental fish, is will be held at the same time, displaying more than 1,500 fish tanks, as well as their food, medicine and supplies.
