Watching Winnie the Pooh in 3D

SHANGHAI'S stage is attracting more and more Walt Disney shows for both young and old.
"Snow White," "Cinderella" and "Beauty and the Beast" were staged last year. "High School Musical" proved a great hit with 20 performances at the Shanghai Grand Theater.
Next up is "Winnie the Pooh," an original Disney stage play that will run at the Majestic Theater from August 6 to 9.
Fascinating 3D stage effects will create the 100-Aker-Wood where the bear and his friends cavort.
The audience will feel right in the middle and experience the butterflies, falling leaves and changing seasons around them.
The yellow bear with a red jacket is seven-year-old Dong Jiaxuan's favorite.
"I bought him the T-shirt and coats with the cartoon figures of Winnie the Pooh, as well as many other things," says Ye Min, Dong's mother.
They watch movies about the Pooh Bear and his mother reads to him.
"I'm glad we can watch the live stage show this summer and I'm sure Jiajia will love it," says the mother.
Winnie, now a Disney franchise, is actually over 80 years old, the creation of British author A.A. Milne who wrote the Pooh books for his son, Christopher Robin.
Stuffed animals belonging to Christopher were turned into characters Eeyore, Piglet, Tigger, Kanga and Roo.
Pooh and his friends are favorites worldwide and the books have been translated into more than 25 languages.
In 1993, Disney Co said Pooh Bear was second only to Mickey Mouse in the portfolio of most-loved and trusted characters the world over.
The "Winnie the Pooh" stage show debuted in 2004 in New Zealand and has been since then performed in 34 countries and regions.
The Disney movie "Winnie the Pooh" will be screened in the background.
The audience will also be invited to go on stage and join Winnie's birthday party, dancing hand-in-hand with animal friends.
Family tickets will be available.
