See the raw beauty of the land Down Under

IN the eyes of many, Australia is a vast, raw land.
“Fragrance: Exhibition of three artists from China and Australia” features a group of paintings by artists Chen Yanyin, Sava Pinney and Chen Songyun. The three women share a close link with Australia.
All of them have lived in the continent, and they try to reflect their emotions and passions for the vast land through their own language of art.
For Chen Yanyin who was born in 1958 in Shanghai, her favorite subject is flowers — or to be exact, those unknown flowers in nature.
“Each flower, even unknown, is nurtured under the same sunshine and rain by nature,” she says. “Although it may appear tiny, yet it is still a small living thing.”
“This is somewhat similar to mankind, because everyone has a distinctive characteristic with a unique life track.”
The highlight of the exhibition goes to Pinney, who was born in 1959 in Canada, but now she spends most of her time working and living in Australia.
Her landscapes depict the charm of a vast red earth desert, and the visual effect is strengthened with the pictures she shot.
Pinney, unlike some other female artists, doesn’t create a polished or softened atmosphere in her works. Instead, her canvas is filled with the energy and clarity that radiate from the red earth of tranquility and grandeur.
