ICOOKIES
A countryside bakery in western Japan is making life-size smartphone cookies that are selling like hotcakes - for US$33 each.
The handmade gadget to gobble recently became a sensation when pictures of the colorful confection were posted on twitter.
The "iPhone Cookie" is made to order by Green Gables bakery in Tokushima prefecture. All the application icons are made with colorful frosting.
The treat costs 2,730 yen (US$33) and is now only available by order in Japan. The creator Kumiko Kudo, the 44-year-old store owner, says, "It's totally surprising to get such a big reaction. At first, the cookie was made just at a friend's request."
Foodie face
It's okay for children to play with their food when they're being creative and eating off Food Face plates made by American designer Jason Amendolara in Rhode Island.
A large human face is painted in the middle of the food-safe ceramics and children can decorate the basic face and give it personality. A little tomato sauce on the cheeks adds a bit of blush. Spaghetti can become hair and mashed potatoes can be a beard. Eyebrows can be pretty much anything.
Parents won't have to chide, "Stop playing with your food."
Eatery for pets
Lily's Kitchen, a new London restaurant, serves not only man but also his (and her) best friend. And not only dogs, but also cats.
When pet owners dine, they can also order food for their pets from the specially designed menu. Prices of the mouth-watering, healthy and organic pet dishes range from US$2.02 to US$77.67. The waiters say they're glad to serve canines and felines because they never complain and eat with gusto. After a nice meal, the furry customers can snooze on a sofa (separate for dogs and cats) or listen to staff tell funny stories.
