EXOTIC and upscale, Barrels is hard to miss as a great restaurant and bar to relax after work.
The restaurant offers cuisine from around the world, including Italian, French and some creative Asian food. Barrel's Western afternoon tea, Chinese afternoon tea, and buffet caters to all tastes.
Western tea is offered from 1pm-4:30pm with classic snacks such as chicken wings and small cakes. Chinese dim sum is available from 4:30pm-8pm.
Having opened for two years on Zhongshan Road S., Barrels' food philosophy revolves around organic ingredients as much as possible.
The owner of the restaurant believes in healthy lifestyles. That means no binge drinking or junk food. The restaurant owns an organic vegetable garden in Pudong New Area, providing fresh vegetables for the restaurant every day.
Since the cost is high and the yield is small, the farm's produce is only for the restaurant. With all these fresh vegetables available, the salads are highly recommended including the chicken Caesar salad, Greek salad and garden salad. Plus the chefs at Barrels are always looking to create new salads.
Other favorites include the US rib-eye steak and seafood. Fresh tomato sauce and herbs are used as ingredients in line with the owner's love for healthy food.
As the name suggests, Barrels also offers a wide selection of wine. The restaurant even makes its own wine, Elmswood Estate, with grapes from its own vineyards.
Elmswood Estate is a boutique winery situated on 25 acres in Yarra Valley in Australia.
Everyone wants to stay young and energetic; that's why our restaurant is dedicated to presenting organic food, great wine and more importantly, a healthy lifestyle, according to the general manager of Barrels.
Not only is the food good, but the atmosphere is also lively and pleasant. The interior decor is luxurious. Barrels can cover everything from big wedding parties to more intimate private dinners.
Two multi-purpose halls can function as either a ballroom or lounge bar. With top-notch audio equipment and lighting effects, the restaurant has an unforgettable one of a kind vibe. The live band from the Philippines also contributes to its appeal. The restaurant's unique layout is ideal for corporate events and private parties.
The band performs from 8pm to midnight and accepts requests.
