Great bars with awesome deals at happy hour

SHANGHAI'S night life is never dull. For people who are busy during the day, many bars offer a happy hour to attract customers and are a good option for those not interested in night clubbing. Here are some casual places in town to hang out with friends and toss back a few drinks.
Dakota American Bistro & Bar
Dakota American Bistro & Bar is a casual, energetic, affordable neighborhood bistro on the edge of the former French concession.
It's an easy-going, comfortable place open from brunch until late at night.
The restaurant serves American and French cuisine, cocktails by an award-winning mixologist, fresh breads and desserts from the on-site bakery. It has a great selection of music by the in-house DJ.
During happy hour, you can enjoy "buy one get one free" on draft beers, wine of the month and standard pours.

Malone's
Malone's American Cafe on Tongren Road was opened in 1994 and since then it has been one of the best neighborhood pubs in town.
Malone's is famous for its burgers with 30 options to choose from. The barbecue beef and pork ribs are also perennial favorites.
The happy hour provides all standard drinks at half price (except Tiger, Guinness, Kilkenny and Strongbow on draft). Malone's also has an in-house band.

Sasha's/Zapata's
It is always a delight to find an example of culinary showmanship in classic old world surroundings, coupled with good service at Sasha's. The newly decorated dinning room on the second and third floors serve fine wines and cheese. From 6pm to 9pm, customers can buy one get one free on margaritas & mojitos, the same in Zapata's.
Featuring continental cuisine, Sasha's usually offers slight twists on old favorites.
Many special events are held at Sasha's, including a Thanksgiving Day meal this month.

Bubba's
Kenneth Walker, founder of Bubba's, has been in Shanghai for eight years and opened his first Bubba's in 2006. Now he owns another one in Expo Village.
Bubba's offers draft beers and house pours for 20 yuan and margaritas and Texas tea for 30 yuan during its daily happy hour from 2pm to 8pm.
House specials include Angus beef served with a baked potato or fries, side salad, and jalape?o cornbread muffins.
Bubba's also offers weekday specials such as half price off their 100% Wagyu beef burgers on Mondays. Tuesday is steak night and for 200 yuan, customers get any steak with one draft beer.

Overtime Bar
Overtime Bar is a neighborhood bar on the Bund, a family owned place with a great staff to make the customers feel at home. The bar features 10 flat screen TVs, large projectors, a music stage, a large covered patio with an outdoor big screen, new pool tables, dart boards and other bar games.
They open Monday through Friday for lunch with great weekly specials. Buy one get one free on Starker Beer (0.5L/2L/5L) is available everyday from 11am to 9pm.
