Secrets of Italian wine are revealed
Last Friday witnessed the first official Italian Wine & Spirit Course 2017 in Shanghai, jointly managed by the Italian Ministry of Economic Development and ICE — the Italian Trade Agency.
A total of 250 professionals in China went through this course and have become ambassadors of Italian wines.
The three-day course was lead by Francesco Ye, an experienced Italian wine expert and promoter.
The invited trainees were primarily importers, wine journalists and other professionals.
The market share of Italian wines — Italy is the largest wine producer in the world — in China grew from 4.5 percent last year to almost 6 percent this year.
Italian wines are also generally considered good value for money. China’s bottled wine imports increased 29 percent in the first half of this year.
In 2018, Italy will run courses in second and third-tier cities to train 400 ambassadors of Italian wines.
