Andaz makes everything personal

WHEN we're away from home, where do we feel most relaxed?" asks Andaz Shanghai's General Manager, Wilson Lee. "Probably at the home of family or your best friend."

Being the first Andaz property in Asia Pacific, and the sixth hotel to open under the new Andaz brand operated by Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, the hotel at Xintiandi brings a "personal, uncomplicated and vibrant" type of experience to the city. The Andaz name, which means "personal style" in Urdu, encapsulates the very essence of the brand's driving philosophy that celebrates, respects and caters to guests' personal style and preferences.

Therefore, a flexible and highly personalized experience begins on arrival.

Departing from convention, guests are welcomed by an Andaz host at the entrance as they would be in a private home. The dedicated Andaz host combines the traditional roles of doorman, receptionist, concierge and bell attendant. They will happily give their mobile number so, if guests have a query when out exploring the city, they can call at any time.

The hotel features 307 spacious guest rooms and suites, all with vibrant views over Shanghai and impressive LED lighting, where guests can customize the color to suit their moods. In the rooms, guests are able to enjoy complimentary Wifi, non-alcoholic drinks and snacks in the mini bar and local calls. The host desk also provides guests with coffee and light snacks throughout the day and evening wine service. Dining and entertainment options include Andaz Lounge, the heart of the hotel in the main lobby; éclair, an all-day patisserie; and Hai Pai - a restaurant offering Chinese and French cuisine with private dining rooms and outdoor seating overlooking Xintiandi.

For meetings and events, Andaz Shanghai offers 11 different venues, from Meeting Studios that can seat 14-16 guests to a Ballroom catering for up to 330 banquet style. The Garden Studio, set to open at the end of this year, will feature an organically shaped outdoor terrace and a spectacular Glass Pavilion surrounded by water, ideal for an outdoor event.
