Radisson Blu stands ready to impress
THE Radisson Blu Hotel Shanghai Hong Quan in Putuo District, which was recently upgraded from Radisson Green, now offers more benefits and services to guests.
As the soon-to-be fourth international five-star hotel in Shanghai managed by Carlson, a worldwide hotel group that also includes the Park Plaza brand, Radisson Blu Hongquan has been redecorated to coincide with the upgrade.
"The hotel now has an exquisite design and we are dedicated to providing value-added services to all guests," said Carlos Chen, the hotel's director of sales and marketing.
The sixth floor of the hotel's main building has become a leisure and entertainment floor, where guests can enjoy mahjong, yoga, snooker and other facilities.
Chen said the hotel likes to make all guests feel at home, so the sixth floor is an ideal place for them to relax and unwind as it has been specially designed for families.
"As we all know, some businessmen like to bring their wife when on business trips," Chen says. "Most wives prefer to stay in the hotel while their husband is working because they may not be familiar with the location.
"This is why we decided to build the sixth floor into a multifunctional amusement area, where everyone can enjoy the spa, gym, mahjong and yoga."
For early risers, the Grab & Run breakfast has been launched for those catching an early flight, said Chris Xiao, assistant sales and marketing manager at Radisson Blu Hong Quan.
"Some guests may have been on a red-eye flight or need to catch an early morning plane," Xiao said. "So our Grab & Run service provides them with delicious and nutritious breakfasts at 4am."
The hotel also offers a delayed checkout.
This allows guests to check out as late as 6pm, normally it is noon, provided they arrange this with the hotel in advance.
The hotel features two grand ballrooms. One measures 400 square meters and can be split into two smaller ballrooms.
The other ballroom is 350 square meters, with an independent conference building where the ceiling has an average height of 5 meters.
Chen said the Radisson Blu Hotel Shanghai Hong Quan is in a great location.
Only 15 minutes to Hongqiao International Airport and less than one hour to Pudong International Airport, the hotel is in Shanghai's Hongqiao transportation hub. The hotel is also only two minutes from Metro Line 11's Shanghai West Railway Station.
The hotel also offers a shuttle bus service every 30 minutes.
Chen said the hotel also hosts a regular cocktail party on Wednesday nights.
"We usually invite in-house customers together with our employees and managers," Chen said.
The party is designed to make guests feel welcome while also giving them an informal platform to speak with employees about any problems or issues they would like to address.
Chen said this helps the hotel continue improving its service.
He added the five-star evaluation will be soon and that the Radisson Blu team will continue working hard to satisfy all guests.
