Sprinters in the spotlight
TWELVE horses, 1,200 meters, A$14 million (US$9.6 million) to be won or lost in a little over a minute. As the world’s richest turf race, The TAB Everest to be held at Royal Randwick on October 19 will attract the world’s best sprinters and will again put the global sporting spotlight firmly on Sydney’s racing headquarters, said James Ross, general manager of racing, wagering and international of the Australian Turf Club, in Shanghai.
The Everest Carnival reaches new heights in 2019 with the addition of one of Australia’s richest races The Golden Eagle to the spring program. The inaugural A$7.5 million Golden Eagle will be run at Rosehill Gardens on November 2.
