Taking the plunge this summer

SUMMER is here, a time when many people make a special effort to get fit and look their best. Swimming is a popular choice for burning off extra kilograms, while improving stamina, strength and flexibility. However, public pools in downtown Shanghai are almost always crowded and noisy - not making for the most relaxing swim. But pools at top hotels in and around Shanghai can provide idyllic surroundings for a unique swimming experience, often with fresh air, sunshine and beautiful views of nature or in the heart of busy city. And for that extra-relaxing touch, there are often sauna, hot tub and steam room facilities. You can also invite friends to join a summer pool party and enjoy cocktails, wines, cold beer, soft drinks, plus a healthy selection of yogurts and seasonal salad.
