An 8.03-carat, cushion-shaped natural “pigeon’s blood” Burmese ruby ring designed by Asian jewelry designers, Cindy Chao, will be one of the main attractions of Sotheby’s magnificent jewels and jadeite auction on October 7 in Hong Kong. The estimated value is HK$28 million–HK$33 million (US$3.5million–US$4.2 million). Originating from the Mogok Valley in Myanmar, this fiery ruby of impressive size is free of inclusions to the naked eye and glows with a rich, saturated red color.
