European style in the city
FELICIE Corre-Le Blan has worked in the communications department of iconic French house Hermes for a decade, first in her home city of Paris and now in Shanghai for almost a year. Her mother worked for Kenzo and Comme des Garcons, before becoming a fashion editor, so fashion is something Corre-Le Blan has been surrounded by all her life.
The most interesting outfit I've worn for a special occasion is the John Galliano white silk and lace dress I wore for my wedding.
I usually shop in Paris and Shanghai and any other big cities I have the chance to travel to.
If I had to limit your shopping, I would go to Rue de Sevres in Paris: At Le Bon Marche, where you can find all the trendiest brands of the moment, and at the Hermes store - which by happy coincidence is on same street!
My favorite brands are APC for nice basic elements; Paul Smith for an English twist; Thierry Colson for romantic dresses; Adelline for jewels; Delphine Delafon for the rock style bags; Charles Philip for dandy style loafers.
The designers I most admire is Yves Saint Laurent for the masculine elegance he gave to women and for these ethnic elements and crazy colors he injected in his Haute-Couture collections.
My best recent purchase is a bright red Hermes bag in the Berline range. It's a new shape that I love for its American vintage style.
The next fashion purchase I'm eyeing up is another pair of leather pants for a rock touch to mix with all my classic pieces.
My grooming staples is Shanghai, which is the best place to a have perfect and cheap manicure, which I really appreciate. And spending time and laughing with my kids and my husband makes me feel very good!
My signature perfume is Lys Méditerranée by Frédéric Malle.
My favorite souvenir is my grandmother's Charles Eames lounge chair that accompanied her on her different moves in New York and Paris, and is now with me in Shanghai.
The most memorable place I've traveled is Senegal, in a wooden hut enlaced in the branches of a great baobab tree, in the middle of the bird-filled savannah.
Alessandro Asperti is a native of the historic city of Brescia in the north of Italy, not far from fashion capital Milan. The 33-year-old has lived in Shanghai for almost eight years, where he is general manager of the Santoni Shanghai Knitting Machinery. My personal style is definitely unconventional. I'm a classical guy who hates labels and brands when everybody knows them. It is not what you wear but how you wear it that makes the real difference. I love the winter season because you can match more colors and use the darker tones that I like most. Blue, bottle green and purple are my favorites.
The best outfit I've ever worn is my everyday outfit of a blue suit - the most versatile of all. But more important than the suit is the man who fits it for you. Once you find a good tailor, never give his name away, not even under the threat of bodily harm! All I will say is that mine is one of the most historic "sartorie" in Naples.
I follow fashion trends by looking in the mirror! Living in China, sometimes you forget about fashion and trends. Personally speaking, I love that; my fashion icon becomes me and my wardrobe becomes my shops.
I usually shop in Italy. Most of the time I do my shopping in "homey" places and tailors but sometimes I pass a shop window, fall in love with something and buy it a few minutes later.
If I had to limit my shopping I would choose Italian boutiques and bookstores. With the excuse that I live in China, I always buy loads of clothes when I go back to Italy, It's the same with books. I also fell in love with Kinokuniya bookstore in Singapore: I could spend a fortune there.
My favorite brand is Lock, one of the most historic hats shop. I always buy my hats there and there is no way I can compromise - the others are not even an option! Their quality is the best. Moreover, the shop in London is a sanctuary for people who habitually wear a hat.
I collect strange glasses. I only need to wear glasses for reading, so I like wearing unusual pairs. And if we're talking about sunglasses, there is only one pair that I cannot live without: my black Ray-Ban Wayfarers.
The most memorable place I've traveled is the Philippines. I went fishing in the north of Palawan with two friends and it was one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to. Going around empty islands for four days: it's something I have to repeat very soon with my girlfriend.
It's difficult to say what other city I would love to live in. After so many years in China, I would love to go back to Europe; probably not to Italy but to one of the beautiful European capitals like Paris, Madrid or London.
