Taking a look in the mirror

DANNY Yeh is the executive officer and managing partner of Bernini Group, a woman's apparel company that was established in 1976. The group also owns almost 350 boutique shops both on the Chinese mainland and in Taiwan. Yeh believes China's economic growth will continue to bring more success to Bernini and be a good springboard for the company to expand internationally.

My personal style is artistic casual. I like things simple but with a little humor and artistic touch. Maybe "neo-preppy" is the style I am looking for.

An interesting outfit for a rendezvous with all my wife's girlfriends includes a light pink pastel shirt, a geometric patterned belt in off white, and fine cotton pink shorts. I find it humorous to wear pink from head to toe and women always find it adorable. At least I know my wife enjoys looking at me.

I will shop almost anywhere. I enjoy shopping the most when my local friends take me to those hidden shops that have all sorts of treasures.

If I had to limit my Shanghai shopping to one sort of thing, it will definitely be those Chinese antiques such as a Buddha bedside lamp.

My favorite fashion brands are Dries Van Noten, Paul & Joe, Lacoste and Ralph Lauren.

The designer I most admire is my wife, Robyn Hung. Robyn's fashion label is about young, independent girls who are into traveling, having fun and experiencing different things and different cultures. I am overwhelmed with her magic for combining colors and her lust for inspiration from different cultures.
My best recent purchase is a series of fashion documentary films, "Le Jour d'Avant" by the director Loic Prigent. The film allows access to the creative process of all the top fashion houses and designers. Watching these films will guarantee you tons of inspiration and a big anxiety attack. If you're a true fashion lover, get these films.

My next fashion purchase will be a short to the hip, light cotton belted safari jacket with lots of pockets. I will wear it when I travel.

My grooming staples are a good haircut every three weeks, a facial treatment one to two times a week by me, includes light scrub and facial cleansing masque. A good hot shower every evening and a short cold shower every morning.

My signature perfumes are L'Eau d'Issey by Issey Miyake or Philosykos by Diptyque preferably for the morning. Terre d'Hermes for the evening.

My favorite souvenir is a book given by a top executive from Starbucks Corporation at a Starbucks shop in Shanghai. The name of the book is "Onward." It's about how Starbucks fought for its life without losing its soul. Since we are managing a company that has around 300 stores, I know how difficult it is just to survive.

My most memorable destinations have to be the Greek island of Santorini and Venice, Italy. Nothing compares to the tranquility on the island of Santorini at sunset. I love Venice for the beauty of its setting, its architecture and its artworks. Don't know why, but I felt I was like in the land of Harry Potter.

I've always wanted to visit India and Morocco. I've read too many books and heard too much about the beauty of these two countries. How can anyone be in fashion without visiting them?
Helen Lee's name has become synonymous with Shanghai fashion in the past decade. She is the creator of the well-known full Shanghai concept fashion brand "insh," and her second line is simply called "Helen Lee." Her latest collection is available in her flagship boutique on Fumin Road.
My Personal style is simple but fitted cuttings with a touch of hidden details. For example, a white or other solid colored blouse with hand-made details. I always like to wear accessories such as glasses or a headband in unique styles, even if it's not exquisite. I love jewelry and I'm not into over-designed clothes such as huge hats (unless on the beach). Baggy or square cuts are not my style. My iconic style is wearing a simple but beautifully cut white blouse with a fitted jacket or blazer, gray or black leggings or skinny pants that are matched with a designer bracelet, big rings or a crazy belt. Don't forget the high heels.

An interesting outfit for dating is an off shoulder hand-knit sweater in cashmere, pure royal blue or dark green, a full length and very fitted jersey skirt in same tone. A big hand-made gold ring, a pair of ankle length booties with high heels in contrasting color, such as a green outfit with red or brown heels, and royal blue with magenta or white heels, but will match a white long necklace as well. It's chic but comfortable, romantic and a little bit sexy.

I usually shop in Hong Kong, but mostly I wear my own clothes, or made for myself. For the shoes, many pairs were hand made at a shoe store on Nanyang Road. Otherwise I'll shop in Hong Kong or at a Canadian shoe brand "John Fluevog."

If I have to limit my Shanghai shopping to one neighborhood, in the past it was Nanjing Road W., but now I'd say Pudong IFC.

My favorite fashion brands are Miu Miu, Prada and Tom Ford, but usually I wear my own clothes. I like to mix and match, once I'm thinking of a different style, I just design and make it.

The designers I most admire are Proenza Schouler, Peter Pilotto, Jean Paul Gaultier and Alexander McQueen.

My best recent purchase is a Christian Dior belt.

My next fashion purchase will be a pair of white leather bike gloves and a pair of green & blue mixed Prada shoes with a stripe design and wedge heels.

My grooming staples are a manicure and pedicure every week, mini blog every day, spa treatment every two weeks, bike every two days, a trip every six months.

My signature perfumes are Coco mademoiselle from Chanel for winter, and l'Eauparkenzo from Kenzo for summer.

My favorite souvenir is a pair of earrings with an eagle totem pattern from Canadian native jewelry designer David Neel.

My most memorable destination has to be London. I had a short stay in London two years ago and I visited so many art museums, and met so many creative people. I like the art environment there, and the fashion is quite a match with my own style.

I've always wanted to visit so many places, almost every where: Barcelona, New York, San Francisco, Paris, Milan, Egypt, Laos, Rome and Argentina.
