Chinese spend more on travel rather than other luxury items
Ruder Finn and IPSOS Group have released the sixth edition of the 2015 China Luxury Forecast, providing an analysis of key trends in the luxury sector on the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong. Travel is now the number one category of luxury for Chinese. This spending is expected to drive more growth in luxury markets outside China.
The rise of e-commerce represents both the next major challenge and opportunity for luxury brands. A large majority of mainland consumers said they would spend more, or at least the same, on luxury in the next year. Between 18 and 38 percent of Hong Kong respondents said they would spend more on luxury products in the next year.
Creative fashion show
The recently “Marie Claire Style China” International Fashion Design Show held by fashion magazine Marie Claire in Shanghai presents the work of 26 world-class luxury brand fashion designers. Every piece of the work for brands such as Karl Lagerfeld, Giorgio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel, Chloé and Coach is fused with artistic inspiration and represents their recognition of art, China and fashion. Visitors can view these designs from a closer range.
