40 more Marriotts by year end

MARRIOTT International plans to open 40 hotels across China by the end of this year, bringing the number of its hotel properties to 100. A hotel will be opened in Shanghai's Jinqiao area in Pudong New Area early next year. That will bring the total in the city to 20. To staff the new hotels, Marriott will recruit 40,000 employees from across China from universities and via social media. More than half of the managers at the new hotels will be Chinese, upholding the group's corporate culture and standards, said Jim Pilarski, a chief human resources officer of the group.
