Lodge hidden in Chilean rain forest
MAGIC Mountain Lodge is set inside a manmade volcano that was inspired by a local legend of a mountain that grants wishes in Patagonia, Chile.
The five-story lodge has 13 rooms and suites, offering a comfy homey stay with wooden decor. Water pours down from atop the roof to water the plants growing on the facade of the hotel. Customers are admitted into the hotel after walking across a 430-meter suspension bridge, the longest in South America.
Tucked away in the Huilo Huilo Biological Reserve, the hotel offers a view of the rain forest and the Arenal Volcano from afar. Guests can also set out on an expedition in the forest to look for wildlife unique to Chile, including Pudu deer.
The lodge becomes a popular destination in winter for skiing.
