Russian troupe stages ballet classics

THE Russian State Ballet will present local audiences with two classic ballets, “Swan Lake” and “The Nutcracker.” Both shows will feature beautiful scores, exquisite costumes and world-class dancing from some of the best in the business.
The troupe’s production of “Swan Lake” has been celebrated for the extremely difficult and unique movements of the dancer in the role of Odile, who will do 32 turns with fouette. Audiences will be amazed by the entire troupe’s strength, stamina, intensity and elegance.
The Russian State Ballet has performed in around 80 countries and regions worldwide. “Swan Lake” is a cornerstone of their repertoire, and has been described by critics and viewers alike as one of the most beautiful versions of Tchaikovsky’s classic being staged today.
The two-act ballet “The Nutcracker” is a fantastic show for the whole family. Based on a fairy tale by ETA Hoffmann, the show will lead audiences on a journey through a fantasy world where a girl meets a prince.
Spectacular scenes, stirring music and modern elements will also be incorporated into this classic tale.
