The mist-shrouded beauty of Lushan Mountain

Situated in the northern part of Jiangxi Province in southeastern China, Lushan Mountain is one of the most renowned mountains and tourism resorts in the country.
The mountain is famous for its magnificent views of rolling cloud seas, ethereal mists and spectacular sunrises — not to mention its many spectacular ravines, waterfalls, grottoes and streams. This time of year, cold air from the north creates a gorgeous covering of ice and frost, making Lushan Mountain a wonderland for winter travelers.
Lulin Lake, an artificial lake on the top of Lushan, was built in 1954-55 at 1,040 meters above sea level. Located in the East Valley Lulin Basin in Jiujiang, the lake boasts a dazzling winter landscape as frozen water vapor clings to the surrounding trees.
The Lulin Bridge was built over the jade-colored lake.
More than 200 historic buildings are located in Lushan National Park; including complexes of prayer halls that have been rebuilt and extended many times to create an ongoing center for study and worship. Throughout history, Lushan Mountain has attracted countless scholars, poets and artists with its enthralling and mysterious beauty. To this day, the mountain is still known for its rich striking landscapes and cultural heritage.
