Xinjiang flight bargains

TICKET prices have dropped dramatically on some popular domestic flight routes with the onset of the tourism low season, Chinese online travel service company Ctrip.com has reported. The period between the end of the National Day holiday on October 8 and mid-November normally sees the lowest flight ticket prices of a year, the company said. A one-way ticket between Shanghai and Kashgar of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, for instance, has with some carriers dropped to 1,290 yuan (US$ 207), from 4,280 yuan during the National Day holiday. Prices between Shanghai and Urumqi, the capital city of Xinjiang, have dropped from 2,800 yuan to 840 yuan.
