Eco-tourism belt
The Xixi Eco-tourism Belt offers locals more holiday outing choices. The belt, which is a long strip of open park, is in the northeast of the Xixi National Wetland Park with Zijingang Road in the east, Tianmushan Road in the south, Wuchanggang Road in the west and Wen’er Road W. in the north.
Another forest park has opened along Huanding Road in Jianggan District, opposite the Tianyangguanzhu Community. Wushan Culture Park near the City God Temple now has a Silk Road map, compass models and porcelain installations for visitors keen to learn about the ancient route.
At the White Pagoda Park, people can ride an old train pulled by a steam locomotive. The locomotive has been retrofitted with an electric motor and pulls a green passenger car along a circular rail track in the park.
The nine-story White Pagoda was built 1,040 years ago and is a national heritage. In 1905, the city’s first railway cut through the area and a section of the railway has been preserved.
