1-stop trading platforms launched

SHANGHAI has launched a new batch of 18 platforms offering “6+365 days” one-stop trading services to support the China International Import Expo.
In order to help develop the six-day event as a “permanent expo,” the city launched 31 platforms offering such trading services, including the Hongqiao Import Commodity Exhibition and Trading Center, before the first expo last year.
The platforms have become important connecting channels for expo exhibits to enter the Chinese market and important carriers of the spillover effect of the CIIE, according to Shang Yuying, head of the city’s commerce commission and deputy secretary general of the local government.
After the first CIIE, the platforms brought in more than 20,000 exhibits from nearly 800 exhibitors, with a total value of over 9 billion yuan (US$1.27 billion), and have imported about 75.2 billion yuan worth of goods, an increase of 108 percent compared with that before the first expo.
Among the 18 newly licensed “6+365 days” trading platforms are the Yangshan Global Import Products Exhibition Platform, Donghao Lansheng Group’s new retail platform for import commodities, and the Waigaoqiao International Horologe and Jewelry Exhibition and Trading Center.
