2 crashes paralyze Yangpu Bridge

THE city's Yangpu Bridge, a major river crossing between Yangpu District and Pudong New Area, was jammed for nearly three hours today after two vehicle collisions happened on the bridge.
Five people were injured in the accidents and were sent to hospital for treatment.
The first collision occurred at about 8:20am when a car crashed into two cars and drifted into the opposite lane. One driver was hurt and the damaged vehicles were towed away by 9:30am.
Soon after, a bus and two cars bumped into each other about 10am. Four people were injured in the second collision.
Traffic on the bridge was at standstill until after 11am with vehicles lining up for several kilometers on the highway.
