2 hurt, 2 killed in road accidents over weekend

A MAN and a woman riding a moped were injured after being hit by a public sanitation earth-moving truck in Baoshan District yesterday.
The woman suffered rib fractures and pelvis fractures. The man, who was driving, suffered fractures on his left arm and needs skin grafting.
According to a witness, the truck with a Hongkou public sanitation logo ran a red light at the intersection of Fulian Road and Shuichan Road W. about 12:45pm, a witness said. The truck, heading south on Fulian Road, hit the moped, which was heading east on Shuichan Road W.
On Saturday, two women pedestrians were killed in another accident in Putuo District.
A bus running northward on Daduhe Road about 7:10pm knocked down the two, who were walking across the street in apparent violation of traffic laws.
They were both non-locals, one aged 29 and the other 53.
