3 injured as blast caused by suspected explosive object rocks check-in area in Pudong airport
A blast caused by a suspected homemade explosive object took place around 2:20pm today inside the T2 terminal of Pudong International Airport, sending 3 injured travelers to hospital, the airport authority confirmed. (Program Code: 0909346160605010)
At least three people were injured, two of them seriously, when a blast, reported to be caused by a homemade explosive, went off inside Terminal 2 at the Pudong International Airport at around 2:20pm today.
The blast happened at the C check-in counter, authorities said.
Witnesses said an object, which looked like a cracker, exploded in the hand of a male passenger as he queued up in front of the check-in counter. He was among the injured and was seen lying on the ground after the explosion.
There were two other explosions, with the second taking place 5 seconds after the first one went off. The blasts came from different bags, authorities said.
