6 stand trial for chemical leak
SIX suspects who were responsible for a chemical leak which polluted a creek and hospitalized 46 residents in January 10 stood trial yesterday, Jinshan District prosecutors said.
Prosecutors said the cause of the toxic leak was a leaking valve which they didn't check when unloading C9, a petrochemical containing benzene compounds, from a ship. The six people included a vendor, a buyer and four port workers.
