7 more imported infections
Seven new imported novel coronavirus cases were reported in the city as of midnight Tuesday, which has brought the number of imported infections to 177, the Shanghai Health Commission said yesterday.
Another 20 suspected cases are undergoing checks.
Three imported cases — from Spain, Iran and the US — were discharged on Tuesday.
The newly diagnosed cases include two Chinese from the UK, a Chinese traveling from Thailand, a Chinese returning from a business trip to Spain, two French people and an American traveling from Indonesia.
All seven have been transferred to the designated hospital and their 48 close contacts on the planes have been tracked and put under quarantine and observation.
There was one new local death reported on Tuesday. A 63-year-old woman, whose condition became worse after being hospitalized.
Among the 177 imported cases, 14 have been discharged and 163 remain hospitalized, including two in serious condition and one critical.
Among the 339 local cases, 327 have been discharged and six remain hospitalized, including five in critical condition. Six have died. There were no new local cases or suspected cases yesterday.
