A 'temporary' situation
THE liquidity crunch is controlled and only temporary, a central bank official said in Shanghai yesterday.
"Conditions will return to normal as seasonal factors, including the rapid increase of loans, more reserve requirements and the rise in cash demand before the Dragon Boat Festival, have passed," Ling Tao, deputy director of the bank's Shanghai headquarters, said at a news conference ahead of the Lujiazui Forum which begins tomorrow.
