Addict couple caught with drugs
A MIGRANT couple has been detained for possessing 100 grams of crystal methamphetamine, or "ice," Shanghai Railway Police said today.
The couple, both addicts, Shi from northeastern Heilongjiang and Wu from Sichuan, planned to earn money by selling the "ice" in Shanghai and buying more drugs for themselves, police said.
They were discovered by police officer Liu Jianhua while he was inspecting a No. K284 train as it was passing through Hubei Province from Chengdu in Sichuan Province. Liu's suspicions were aroused by 23-year-old Wu's jaundiced complexion.
Liu found the ice, wrapped in two transparent plastic bags, in Wu's backpack, and the couple confessed they were planning to sell it to acquaintances in Shanghai.
