Addict held for killing wife and 'her lover'

AN innocent man was stabbed to death by a drug addict who had killed his wife and suspected the passer-by was his wife's lover, police said yesterday.
A suspect surnamed Zhang, 50, was detained by the police who said it was unclear whether he had a metal disorder or was delusional.
The 60-year-old victim, also surnamed Zhang, was walking his dog with his wife, surnamed Tan, when he was attacked on Sunday evening in Zhabei District.
Tan said: "We just moved here in August and we do not even know them (Zhang and his wife)."
The suspect is alleged to have stabbed his wife, surnamed Huang, at their home before fleeing. An hour later, Zhang returned to the area and stabbed his second victim who he believed was his wife's lover, according to police.
The victim was stabbed four times. He died in hospital despite emergency surgery.
Changzheng Hospital said the man was stabbed in the abdomen, causing bleeding from internal organs.
The victim's daughter yesterday posted microblogs at Weibo.com stating her father was mistaken for Huang's lover, not only by the suspect but in some media reports.
Meanwhile, Zhang's neighbors and family said they did not believe Zhang's wife had a lover. Zhang had history of theft and had returned recently from a drug rehabilitation center, neighbors said.
