Africa Pavilion receives 10m visitors

Wu Jing from Henan Province may be able to open a small Africa museum at home, after she received a box full of handicrafts, jewelry and art from the Africa Joint Pavilion this morning, being the 10 millionth visitor.

The pavilion welcomed the young college teacher as if she was the chief of a tribe. Representatives of several countries, such as Ethiopia and Comoros, draped her in an African cloak and crown.

The pavilion was the first foreign pavilion to reach 10 million visitors, Expo organizers said.

The pavilion's duty director Rose Ndayiragije said that although she was excited by the visitor numbers, she had to deal with rude behavior such as visitors taking flash photos of performers and paintings.
