Annoying mistress 'strangled'

A LOCAL man alleged to have killed his mistress because she kept asking him to divorce his wife and marry her was charged with murder yesterday.

Wang Feisheng, 38, told Minhang District prosecutors: "She urged me to get a divorce. She also asked to move into my newly decorated apartment, which annoyed me."

"As I couldn't get rid of her, I decided to kill her," Wang said.

Wang met the victim surnamed Ju, 25, in a barber's shop two years ago. She became his mistress.

On the night of October 26, Wang took Ju to a hotel. After they had sex, Ju brought up the question of marriage again, enraging Wang, who strangled her, prosecutors said.

He then put the body, weighed down with large stones, into a plastic bag and threw it into a river, prosecutors alleged.

Two days later, a retired man surnamed Tao fishing in the river dragged up the body as he hauled in his net.
