Armed police to ensure Expo water security
ARMED police will guard some of Shanghai's water plants to ensure security during World Expo, which runs from May 1 through October.
They will focus on preventing explosions, attacks and damage to the water supply as well as preventing poisoning attempts, today's Shanghai Morning Post reported.
Meanwhile, Shanghai's water authority said yesterday that 38 kilometers of water pipes have been laid in Expo Park to supply an expected 400,000 visitors a day.
The authority will take samples from seven points in the network to supervise water quality.
