GENEROUS locals have helped a jobless man selling artwork in the city raise more than 12,000 yuan (US$1,818) for his seriously ill son.
When he returned his home town in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province yesterday, Hui Xueqing was still receive donations from residents. Hui is attempting to raise 250,000 yuan to pay for a kidney and pancreas transplant for his son. He sold six Chinese paintings donated by artist friends and 189 pieces of his own paper-cutting works during three days in Shanghai.
