Attacker stabs police assistants

A MAN stabbed and injured four police assistants early this morning in Minhang District.

One of the assistants was seriously injured but all are now in a stable condition in hospital, Shanghai Evening News reported today.

The four guards were patrolling on Humin Road at 3am and stopped a young man suspecting he had stolen the moped he was riding.

The man said he would show them the keys to the moped but suddenly pulled a knife and attacked them.

Police caught the man at the scene.
