Avoid peak times at World Expo retrospective, operator urges

OPERATORS of a retrospective show about the World Expo 2010 today reminded visitors to avoid peak visiting periods as large crowds of local students are visiting the exhibition these days.

Students began queuing before the doors of the exhibition opened at 10am this morning at the former Urban Footprint Pavilion in Puxi for their spring outings. Queues moved quickly once the doors opened at 12pm.

More than 14,000 exhibits collected from over 200 Expo pavilions are on display and a 3-D movie about the world fair Shanghai hosted is shown in the exhibition that runs until the end of this year. Tickets cost 30 yuan each.

Visitors numbers have kept increasing and since the beginning of the month nearly 80,000 visitors have entered the show, said Zhang Weiqing, an official with the exhibition.

Most of the visitors are students from local schools who visit the show for spring outings, said Zhang.

The operators have increased staff and guides to ensure all the visitors can enter the exhibition without waiting, he said.
