Beat it for Michael Jackson tickets

CINEMAS in Shanghai will join worldwide celebrations for the premiere of late pop singer Michael Jackson's last movie on October 28.

The documentary has passed censorship and will be introduced by China Film Group and Huaxia Films, according to Zhang Miao of Sony Pictures, the film's distributor.

Shanghai's Broadband International Cineplex started pre-sales yesterday for its midnight premiere. Some fans who have bought tickets said special tickets were printed to commemorate the event, according to China's largest Michael Jackson online fan club.

Only 376 limited tickets will be available. Other cinemas will start selling tickets next week.

Shanghai's Ever Shinning Circuit will put up interactive activities with Shanghai's MJ fans before the presale begins.

UME International Cineplex started to recruit enthusiasts for an Imitation Show of the singer set to be put on before its 0:00 am debut.

"This Is It" shows the singer rehearsing for a series of London concerts just before his unexpected death on June 25. Sony Pictures said the movie will only be shown for two weeks.
