Beauty of Shangri-La in photos
A weeklong photo exhibition aimed at boosting tourism to Shangri-La City in southwest China’s Yunnan Province started on Sunday in Shanghai.
During a tourism campaign launched in early September, nearly 1,000 photographers from Shanghai visited Shangri-La to capture its beautiful landscape and the unique folk customs of its ethnic minorities.
About 5,000 photos were submitted and 100 are on display at an exhibition at Skymall, a mall in Minhang District.
They reveal the development of Shangri-La, the happy life of its people and the fruitful results of Shanghai’s assistance to Shangri-La.
The tourism campaign is jointly hosted by the Shangri-La City Administration of Culture and Tourism and Shanghai Spring Tour.
Minhang has paired with Shangri-La in a national program to share the expertise of China’s modern cities with some of the less-developed regions.
