Bird strike forces turn-around

A BIRD strike forced a China Eastern airplane flying from Shanghai to Shenyang to return to Pudong International Airport shortly after taking off last night.

The Airbus 321-200 with 140 passengers aboard was hit by a bird soon after it took off from Pudong at 9:15pm last night, according to a Xinmin Evening News report.

The plane returned to the airport 20 minutes later with the left window of the cockpit damaged.

No one was injured and the passengers boarded another flight
and reached the capital of northeastern China's Liaoning Province at 00:49am.

The accident is being investigated.
