Blasts and fire as van collides with truck

A truck loaded with 250 cylinders of acetylene was rear-ended by a van early this morning in Shanghai's Yangpu District, injuring two drivers. Two cylinders exploded while others burst into flames.
The drivers were taken to a nearby hospital. One had several fractures while the other was only slightly injured.
Witnesses said the van hit the trunk at around 4:30am on Jungong Road near Zhayin Road. Almost half the cylinders, including the two that exploded, fell from the truck.
More than 30 cylinders caught fire but were soon doused with foam after firefighters arrived.
