Bridge to make creek crossing convenient

THE thirtieth bridge over Suzhou Creek will be open by October adding another crossing over the landmark city river.

Construction of the Weining Road Bridge connecting Changning District and Putuo District has started and will make it more convenient for vehicles and pedestrians to cross the river, according to a Shanghai Morning Post report today.

The 860-meter bridge will connect Tianshan Road in the south and Yunling Road East in the north.

The Zhenping Road Bridge over the creek between Putuo District and Jing'an District is also under construction.

There is a 316-meter gap from the first bridge over the creek in the east to the Chengdu Road Elevated Highway but moving west from there the gap to the next bridge is more than 800 meters.
