Bull statue a new landmark for the Bund

A STATUE of a bull similar to Wall Street's Charging Bull will become a new landmark for Shanghai's financial hub in the Bund financial area, government officials told today's Oriental Morning Post.

The statue, designed as a Chinese ox, is being sculpted now and will be in place in the Bund by the Huangpu River before end of the Chinese Year of the Ox next February, officials said.

The Bund Financial Square where the bull will be placed is to the south of Hankou Road and to the north of Guangdong Road. It is one of the four squares in the financial area, officials said. The other three squares are Huangpu Park, Chen Yi Square and Meteorological Square.

The Charging Bull in New York is a 3,200-kilogram bronze sculpture by Arturo Di Modica that sits in Bowling Green Park near Wall Street.
