A "spiderman" who stole belongings valued at nearly 100,000 yuan (US$15,015) by climbing along the water pipes to enter residents' homes has been jailed for nine and a half years, Jing'an District People's Court said yesterday. Qin Mingchun, a Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region native, came to the city at the end of 2009 after he was released from prison. He asked Wei Yinghui, whom he knew from a gambling house, to be his lookout while he climbed up and entered residents' homes through the windows late at night. The pair were caught in January.
