Charity auction of Yunnan coffee beans

A charity auction featuring authentic coffee beans from southwest China鈥檚 Yunnan Province will be held on Saturday.
Coffee beans produced in the mountainous Manzhuang Village of Yunnan will be auctioned at Hongqiao Import Commodity Exhibition and Trading Center, with the fund raised to help local coffee farmers in Yunnan improve their coffee plantation.
Meanwhile, a short-film, made by Shanghai Daily and telling the story of how the coffee beans are grown in Manzhuang and how the Shanghai government helped the village lift itself out of poverty by boosting its coffee plantation industry, will also premiere at the auction event.
Protagonists in the film, including Eric Baden, founder and CEO of Coffee Commune, and Li Jianwu, Chief of the Coffee Farm in Manzhuang Village, together with Gao Ceng, the film鈥檚 producer, will meet the guests during the event.
