Children to have a day full of fun
CHILDREN can expect various fun events - lucky draws, interactive games, treasure hunts and free gifts - from all over the world at Expo today.
Sweden's famous Pippi Longstocking, Spain's giant baby Miguelin, a Polish puppet show "Little Tiger Peter," and fairies from Italy will be among the highlights on International Children's Day.
Children in the queue for the Spain Pavilion will get a chance to win Miguelin-themed souvenirs.
The Sweden Pavilion is holding a carnival for kids with singing, dancing, aerial acts and interactive games.
Storytelling and drawing classes will be held in the exhibition hall inside the pavilion featuring Pippi Longstocking.
The Poland Pavilion's puppet show tells the story of how Peter, a cowardly little tiger, grows to overcome his fears.
The Italy Pavilion will have six Winx, a type of fairy from the Italian animation "Winx Club."
The animated fairies will welcome visitors through a 3D high-resolution video in the exhibition hall.
The Czech Pavilion has prepared a special Children's Corner with toys for kids to play with and there will be presents of badges, masks and inflatable toys.
The Singapore Pavilion will hand out balloons and entertain with games, music and a special bubble show.
The Africa Joint Pavilion will welcome the first 50 children with books and souvenirs.
Many pavilions and organizers are also hosting child-related charity events. Spain and Sweden have both invited children from remote areas and children with disabilities to celebrate with them.
The China Red Cross is inviting local 200 orphans and 50 children with congenital heart diseases and their parents to the Expo.
And the China Red Cross-Expo 2010 Love Fund, which is enabling another 100 nurses, kindergarteners and children from other parts of the country to visit in July, is holding a children's painting competition.
