China State Grid officials had 22,500 yuan lunch in Shanghai

Two senior officials from China State Grid Co were punished for being entertained by its subsidiary in Shanghai with public funds in October 2013, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission said today.

Li Ruge, chief accountant of State Grid Co, and Xu Peng, director of the company's industrial development department, had a lavish lunch on October 21, 2013, when they were doing a survey of Shanghai Electric Power Co, said SASAC's discipline inspection commission. Shanghai Electric paid for the 22,500 yuan lunch.

The two violated the Party's rules and both were given warnings and records of demerit, the commission said.

They were also ordered to pay back the money.
